DAPL Announcement: New Partnerships and Support (2026-2029)

We are proud to announce that DAPL has been officially re-commissioned to deliver vital mental health and wellbeing counselling and Art therapy support to children and young people across Fife starting April 1, 2026. As part of Fife’s new education commissioning briefs, we will provide two specialised therapeutic services to ensure pupils remain engaged with their education and supported in their emotional wellbeing.

Secondary School Counselling Service: DAPL will provide 1:1 psychotherapeutic counselling for secondary-aged pupils throughout Fife. This service is specifically designed for young people experiencing intense emotional distress that significantly impacts their ability to engage in education.

Primary Art Therapy: We will provide our support to younger pupils, offering Art Therapy for pupils in Primary 5 through Primary 7. This intervention targets children showing signs of emotional distress, helping them build resilience and stay connected to their learning environment.

DAPL is one of seven partners selected to support the Mental Wellbeing of Children and Young People in Fife. We are currently working alongside link workers from the Education Health & Wellbeing team to finalise our Service Level Agreements (SLA) and prepare for a smooth transition into schools.

While these new briefs will take time to fully embed, our goal remains clear: providing timely, professional support to help every young person thrive.

We are currently finalising the formal referral routes for these services with our Education partners. Further details will be communicated to schools and families as soon as possible.
